Most often, the railway mode of transportation is used in cases where the cargo travels over very long distances, the consignment has a weight of several tons, when transporting oversized or heavy cargo that cannot be delivered by road or in cases where the cargo owners have their own access roads for railway wagons.
An important factor in rail transportation is the presence or absence of access roads.

COVERED WAGON
It is used for the transportation of goods that require protection from the weather. The wagon body is a structure consisting of a frame with floors, walls 4 and the roof. Loading and unloading in universal boxcars through doors located in the side walls.
OPEN WAGON
Wagon is intended for the carriage of goods that do not require protection from the weather. Since the gondolas have no roof, it allows you to fully mechanized loading. For transportation of bulk cargo, there are gondolas with hatches in the floor, which allow mechanized unloading of cargo.
HOPPER
A kind of wagon used for mass transportation of fertilizer, cement, grain and other bulk cargo. For protection from the weather, used covered hoppers with loading hatches on the roof.
PLATFORM
The wagon used for the transportation of machinery, equipment, long cargo, containers and bulk goods, which do not require protection from the weather.
Container platforms do not have sides and equipped with special locks for securing heavy universal containers of any type. Platforms for transportation of forest have end walls and additional special racks that prevent shifting of cargo.
TANK WAGON
It is used for transport of liquid cargo, liquefied gases and particulate materials.
REFRIGERATED WAGON
Refrigerated vans with cooling equipment
3 classes depending on the temperature maintained inside the wagon: class A - 12 - 0 degrees Celsius, class B - from 12 to -10º C, class C from 12 to -20º C. Cooling occurs due to the general or individual refrigeration in each wagon installation.
Refrigerated and insulated vans
differ in the way of cooling an empty wagon, which is achieved using any source of cold: dry ice, natural ice with or without salt,
liquefied gas or any other means of cooling other than a refrigeration unit.
It also has 3 classes, which are assigned depending on the temperature inside the car: class A - not higher than 7 º C, class B - minus 10 º C, class C - minus 20º C. This temperature can be maintained in the car at an ambient temperature of +30 degrees Celsius.
DUMPCAR
It is used for transportation and mechanized unloading loose and lumpy cargo
